Project
Details
Cicada House Interiors is a Virginia-based design studio rooted in Southern heritage, architectural detail, and a deep appreciation for timeless interiors. We partnered with the founder to refine and elevate an existing identity—transforming it into a cohesive brand system that reflects the depth, structure, and character of her work. The result is a brand that feels established, intentional, and distinctly her own.
Challenge
Cicada House Interiors had an existing brand foundation, but it lacked the structure and depth needed to reflect the level of work the studio was producing. The visual identity leaned undefined, without a clear point of view, making it difficult to communicate the studio’s refined, heritage-driven aesthetic. There was an opportunity to evolve the brand into something more cohesive, distinctive, and aligned with the designer’s growing body of work.
Goal
The goal was to refine and elevate the existing identity into a cohesive brand system rooted in Southern heritage and traditional interiors. We focused on creating a visual language that felt: • structured, yet inviting • classic, without feeling dated • distinctive, without being overstated This included developing a suite of marks, a heritage-inspired pattern system, and supporting visual elements that could carry the brand consistently across both print and digital applications.
Result
The result is a refined and cohesive brand identity that reflects the depth, structure, and character of Cicada House Interiors. A central cicada motif anchors the system, supported by a custom monogram, a formal seal, and a collection of heritage-inspired patterns that introduce texture and continuity across applications. The identity now feels established, intentional, and visually aligned with the studio’s work—providing a strong foundation as the brand expands into its next phase. We are currently extending this identity into a custom website, translating the same sense of refinement and structure into a digital experience.
